Trump Goes Silent on Twitter after Republican Iowa caucus loss

For anyone who has grown tired of Donald Trump’s over-the-top presence on social media, the silence came out Tuesday on his social media. In the week leading up to the Iowa caucuses, the Republican frontrunner issued more than 120 tweets, including posts bashing his closest GOP rival, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and Fox News host Megyn Kelly.                                                                                                                               About a half-hour before Monday’s caucuses began, Trump posted a message to his nearly 6 million Twitter followers. “Time to get out & caucus!” Trump wrote, linking to a Facebook page detailing the locations where his children would be caucusing. After the loss Trump, who finished second to Cruz in Iowa, addressed his supporters in Des Moines late Monday night. And for an outspoken real estate mogul known for unapologetically unhinged tirades on the campaign trail, his concession speech was very un-Trump-like. He tried to motivate the crowd “We finished second, and I want to tell you something,” Trump said. “I’m honored.” “Tomorrow afternoon we will be in New Hampshire and that will be something special,” he said.                                                                                                     Trump, though, had yet to address his disappointing Iowa results on Facebook or Twitter. After Cruz was declared the winner, some Twitter users pointed to a 2013 tweet in which Trump quoted the late professional golfer Walter Hagen. “No one remembers who came in second,” Trump wrote. Trump finally broke his Twitter silence late Tuesday morning. “My experience in Iowa was a great one,” he tweeted. “I started out with all of the experts saying I couldn’t do well there and ended up in 2nd place. Nice.”

Does Sports provide a refuge for aggression or does it just amplify it?

For years now sports have been prescribe to those with anger management problems so that they can tame it. With that being said, are sports really providing athletes with an outlet to let out aggression or does it just enable them to use that aggression in everyday life. There are any incidences that pertain to criminal activity and domestic violence with the athletic society. For example take the Ray Rice incident in to consideration. If you aren’t aware of what happen I will quickly recap on way occurred that night. Meal Plan: Cost Rising, Where?

Many colleges across the nation are requiring mandatory meal plans for students that are sometimes being charged in hidden fees. This normally shouldn’t seem so bad considering that the students in the college should be well aware of the fact prior to entering the college, however, the money is getting spent to fund other programs and pay for scholarship meal plans for athletes among other things. In other words the money the students are paying for the food is essentially a loan to the other college’s investments and not even their own food. Nothing short of robbery say some students. From a faculty perspective they tend to argue that without this meal plan student would naturally succumb to fast food temptations, a claim that, as a college student myself, I could not refute to some extent. This is a good point but not pivotal in the fact that the allocation of money from hidden fees that’s deemed as a students food money is being misused and the costs are only going to increase. Students at the University of Tennessee have to pay $1,899 per semester for a meal plan while other students are required to pay $300 a semester for a meal plan similar to this. Some of the students gathered together and formed a petition. The petition titled “Don’t Force Feed Us” got over 1000 signatures that same night. The bottom line is these schools are forcing the students to pay fees that are deemed for food yet are using money from the students for huge renovation programs among other things that don’t include the students actual food experience at the university. Understandably enough it’s how money works but when the fees are mandatory, misrepresented, and not taken full advantage of they become a hindrance to many

The Mexican Supreme Court has taken a step forward in the war against marijuana. After a 4-1 Supreme Court decision, four representatives of a group are legally allowed to plant, transport, and smoke marijuana for recreational use.

Doctor assisted suicide

In high school, I wrote a paper about physician assisted suicide. Physician assisted suicide occurs when a physician or other medical professional assists a terminally ill or disabled person to take their own life. An interesting story I came across was about these twin boys who were born blind. They spent their whole lives together and moved in with each other once they got into old age. However, the older they got, their hearing started to go as well and they didn’t want to continue living life when they wouldn’t be able to see or hear each other. They wanted to be euthanized. Some argue that it is acceptable for physicians to assist their patients in committing suicide. One of the main reasons for this argument is that patients who are terminally or disabled often experience a lot of pain and suffering. However, the issue with these twin boys was that they weren’t terminally ill or in pain. This became a real controversial issue about whether or not a doctor had the authority to end these people’s life just because they didn’t want to live without being able to communicate to the other. Additionally, every doctor is required to take an oath before they are licensed that states that they are required to make every effort possible to preserved lives. This went against that oath. My main argument in my high school paper was that it was up to the patient whether or not they thought their situation was worth being euthanized for. Those with terminal illnesses and disabilities often experience a great deal of pain, physically and emotionally. Unless one is suffering a terminal illness or disability no one can claim to understand what the terminally ill or disabled person and their families are going through

My First Encounter With The World of Professional Sports

I went all of my childhood, and most of my adult life thus far, without ever going to a professional sports game. As I have mentioned in previous articles, I was never interested in sports as a child. Not to mention that my parents also lacked any desire to watch or participate in sports as well. The closest I’ve come would be a Harlem Globetrotters “game” that I went to as a small child and I would call that more of a performance than an actual game being played. So never had I known the energy or the roar of an arena full of hardcore fans. It was an amazing experience to say the least.
